HOLA v.1.1

High-speed Optical Link for ATLAS

HOLA

HOLA is a standard S-LINK source card designed for use in the data acquisition (DAQ) system of the ATLAS experiment.

However, it is a standard interface and can be used in any DAQ-s.

It transmits data from the front-end electronics to an S-LINK readout card through a high-speed optical link.

Performances

  • 2.0 Gb/s optical data transmission
  • Complies with CERN proprietary S-LINK interface standard
  • 160 MB/s maximum sustained bandwidth
  • Simplex 32-bit data path and flow control
  • 4 independent return lines for flow control

S-LINK Features

  • Instant-on, (automatic link synchronization and management)
  • Bit error rate << 10-12, CRC check on data blocks

Interfaces

  • User replaceable Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP) optical transceivers
  • Common Mezzanine Card (CMC) form factor
  • LVTTL interface; single 3.3V supply voltage
  • Duplex LC optical connector
  • Compatible with: FILAR, TILAR Express
